Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph

Audemars Piguet has been aiming to associate with high profile sports celebrities by lining up their ambassadors who actually achieved great things in the sports arena. Sportsmen such as legendary golfer Nick Faldo, Formula One racer Michael Schumacher, Footballer wizard Lionel Messi and the recent Women’s champion Serena Williams are some of the great names in their own sporting expertise. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph was first released in 1998 which was equipped with calibre 2385 – otherwise known as calibre Frederic Piguet calibre 1185. Measuring only 5.5mm in thickness, this movement is armed with 304 parts, beats at
21600 vph, fitted with 37 jewels and has a power reserve of 40 hours. The Royal Oak Chronograph ref. 26300 here is fitted with a 39mm monocoque case with no display case back.

This classic size watch exudes a sporty look to me and to ensure that the watch is waterproof to a depth of 50 meters, this timepiece is fitted with screw-lock pushers and a screw-down crown. To activate the chronograph, you just need to unscrew the chrono pushers gently. One of the best features of this watch is the “panda” dial which is off white with black registers and red accents. It also has a 12 hour chrono placed at 9 o’clock position, a 30 minute placed at 3 o’clock position, running seconds placed at 6 o’clock position and a slanted date positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.

To further enhance its perfect contrast, this timepiece has red tips on the small hands and a red minute track to complement its sporty and elegant look.

The case construction looks masculine and beefy with its octagonal bezel as compared to the Royal Oak ref. 15300. Integrated beautifully with the smooth polished profile of the crown guards, the finishing of this timepiece is splendour. The bracelet is fitted with an AP folding clasp and the attention to detail is uniquely outstanding. With a strong angular form and definitely looks bigger than a 39mm form, this watch is a masterpiece that can claim its Audemars Piguet Royal Oak authority with the sporting champions who endorses them.

With a brushed polished case and integrated bracelet showcasing a work of art by Audemars Piguet, this watch gives its sports owner a sense of versatility – for business or casual wear, great balance and comfort.
